Special Class 2027/2028
The application process for a place in a Special Class has changed. Please follow the steps below and ensure that all required documentation is submitted within the relevant deadlines to avoid delays in processing your application.
Step 1: Notify the NCSE
Parents/guardians must use the Parents Notify online portal to inform the National Council for Special Education (NCSE) that they are seeking a place for their child in a Special Class or Special School.
The Parents Notify process enables the NCSE to assess your child’s eligibility for a Special Class or Special School placement. Once the form and supporting documentation have been submitted, the NCSE will review the information provided.
If your child meets the eligibility criteria, you will receive an Eligibility Letter from the NCSE. (Once you have completed your application form, you must email a copy of your eligibility letter to admissions@firhousecc.ie. Applications that are not supported by an Eligibility Letter cannot be processed. )
Further information on the Parents Notify process is available on the NCSE website:

Step 2: Apply to Firhouse Community College

Please remember to send a copy of your child’s NCSE Eligibility Letter and a copy of a Relevant Report to admissions@firhousecc.ie to complete your application. Applications that are not supported by an Eligibility Letter cannot be processed.
Applications will be accepted from 8am on the 1st of October 2026. The deadline for applications for the 27/28 academic year is the 23rd of October. All applications received after this date will be treated as late applications, in line with our admissions policy.
